1032 Recorders Distributed

as of January 18, 2024

Our Mission

In central and northern New Jersey, many schools provide their students with recorders, only for these instruments to be discarded when other instruments are introduced. Instead of letting these valuable tools go to waste, Recorder Reach recycles them to lower-income school districts where limited funding often means the arts, especially music, are the first to be cut.

But our mission goes beyond just donating instruments. We empower these schools by providing the Suzuki method of music education—a proven approach that teaches students by ear. This method not only reduces costs by eliminating the need for stands and sheet music but also supports students who may face language barriers or have learning disabilities. For schools that prefer traditional methods, we still offer options like stands and sheet music to meet their needs.

Our website is designed to bring this vision to life by making it easy to sign up for our various fundraisers and learn more about the Suzuki method. While much of our work involves private interactions with minors in schools, necessitating some confidentiality, we’re dedicated to expanding our impact and fostering a love for music in every child’s life. Join us in making music education accessible and enriching for all!
